Recipes for Homemade Pet Food

brown bar

The recipes below were provided by our vet when we were getting ready to go on an overseas posting with a cat who had developed food allergies. They came with the following disclaimer.

"We recently completed several recipes which were generated using a computerized diet formulation program. It should be emphasized that none of these diets have undergone standard nutritional adequacy testing by either nutrient analysis of food prepared by a typical client, feeding trials, or palatibility studies.

We accept no responsibility for any consequences to you or to your pet(s) caused by the use of the following recipes. Should you choose to use them, you do so at your own risk.

Caution, when using a microwave to reheat food before serving, avoid "hot spots" which can burn the animal's mouth. Mix well after heating and before feeding to your pet.
